Auschwitz is located about 37 miles west of Krakow, near the German-polish border. Gypsies, Russian P.O.Ws, polish political prisoners, and basically anyone the Germans thought didn't have the right to be free were held there. 4.1million people died in Auschwitz. After the daily roll call the prisoners ate their ration which was barely enough to survive. while making this website, I saw people that look almost exactly like skeletons! after they ate they went through another roll call and then they had to cut the ends off fur coats (the owners were deceased) this job was supposed to be a privilege but it made them sad going through photos and trinkets of dead families made them realize how hopeless it was to think about how they would only be reunited with their family in heaven. then they worked for many hours, ate lunch, had another roll call, ate dinner, and slept with ten people in one bed. Auschwitz was being used as a concentration camp in 1942-1945 when the soviet army liberated Aushwitz.
